A transfer service is provided by the hotel where you are going to stay. This is the recommended means of getting between the airport and your hotel. If you would like to have this service, kindly let Trang Nguyen (trang.nguyen(at)cgiar.org) know and provide your flight details (flight number, date and time of arrival and departure) in case your tickets are not purchased by Bioversity International.
If you prefer to take a taxi. Airport transfers cost between 35,00 – 50,00 Euros per person one way. The journey to town takes approximately 30 minutes. A surcharge will be applied if you arrive at night. To avoid any unpleasant surprises, use ONLY the yellow or white-metered taxis from the rank outside the arrivals hall.
Train service operates from Fiumicino Airport to Rome between 05.57 and 22.27. To get to the station at the airport, follow the signs to the FS Train Station.
Take the train marked in the direction of Orte, Fara Sabina or Poggio Mirt and get off at Roma Trastevere train station (7 stops - see diagram below). Please DO NOT catch the Direct Train to Termini, as this service does not stop in Roma Trastevere. These Leonardo Da Vinci Express trains are red, whereas the regional train you should take is typically blue/green in color.
Trains to Trastevere depart approximately every 15 mins (generally from Platform 3). Check the trenitalia website for details on the train schedule. Train tickets cost 8,00 Euros and can be purchased from the ticket booth just before entrance to the platforms.
From Trastevere station it is approximately a 20 minute walk to the hotel. The route from the station to the hotel is shown in the map below.
